Cemex sales grew in first half of 2015

Cemex?s consolidated net sales in the second quarter of 2015 grew by 5 per cent year-on-year. Its operating earnings before income, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by one per cent during the quarter to $744 million. Operating EBITDA increased by 13 per cent.

The increase in consolidated net sales was due to higher product prices in local currency terms in most of its operations, as well as improved volumes in most of its products in Mexico, the US, and the northern Europe and Asia regions.

Cemex?s net sales in Mexico decreased by 9 per cent in the second quarter of 2015 to $745 million while its operating EBITDA increased by 4 per cent to $256 million. In the US, its net sales grew by 5 per cent year-on-year to $1.01 billion and its operating EBITDA increased by 31 per cent to $156 million. In northern Europe, net sales for the second quarter of 2015 fell by 21 per cent to $904 million and its operating EBITDA fell by 8 per cent year-on-year to $111 million. In Asia, net sales grew by 11 per cent year-on-year to $177 million and operating EBITDA was up by 34 per cent year-on-year to $45 million.

Shree Cement reports 2025 financial year results

Shree Cement posted revenue of US$2.38 billion for FY2025, marking a 5.5 per cent decline year-on-year. Operating costs rose 2.9 per cent to US$2.17 billion, resulting in an EBITDA of US$528 million—down 12 per cent from the previous year. Net profit fell 50 per cent to US$141 million. The company reported cement sales of 9.84Mt in Q4 FY2025, a 3.3 per cent increase from 9.53Mt in Q4 FY2024, with premium products making up 16 per cent of total sales.

According to a Moody’s report, India’s cement consumption is projected to rise by 50 per cent over the next five years, increasing from 445 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) in FY24 to 670 MMTPA by 2030. This growth is expected to be driven by government infrastructure spending and rising housing demand, with an anticipated annual growth rate of 6-7 per cent. To meet this demand, major cement companies are likely to continue acquiring smaller, less profitable firms.
