M K Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, unveiled a new brand of cement called Valimai earlier this month, which would be produced at a reduced rate by the Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation (TANCEM).
While presenting his department’s request for funds at the budget session earlier this year, Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu announced the debut of Valimai cement, which is expected to compete with other famous brands on the market.
According to Thennarasu, Valimai cement will be sold on the market in two varieties: Portland Pozzolana and Ordinary Portland, with prices of 350 and 365 for each bag of 50 kg, respectively. “The cement is of excellent quality, with increased compression strength, rapid setting, and heat resistance. The cement would be sold on the free market and utilised for government projects, according to the minister.
