Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd emerged as the highest bidder for two coal blocks auctioned for commercial use in Jharkhand. The highest bidder for a coal block in Odisha was Mahanadi Mines and Minerals Pvt Ltd, while the highest bidder for another coal mine in the eastern state was Yazdani Steel and Power Ltd, according to the coal ministry. The highest bidder for a mining site in Assam was Assam Mineral Development Corp Ltd. Four coal mines have been completely explored, while one block has only been partially explored. These five coal mines have a combined geological reserve of 1,188.16 million tonnes. These coal mines have a total peak rated capacity of 5.944 million tonnes per year.
