Nepal Cement Manufacturers´ Association (NCMA) has reported a ten per cent year-on-year rise in sales volume as compared to 2013.
Increased construction of dams, bridges and housing projects in the country has helped the cement demand to soar higher.´If you look at the overall capacity of the cement industry, demand can be fulfilled by domestic production. But some big projects have been importing cement while domestic products account for 85 per cent of the total consumption in the country,´ said Tara Pokharel, general secretary of NCMA.
