Ambuja to invest Rs 802 crore

Ambuja Cements plans to invest Rs 802 crore during the current year to part finance the ongoing expansion projects in the country. The company had spent Rs 725 crore in 2013. The investment will be made through internal accruals. Three greenfield cement plants-of 1.5 mtpa capacity each-ùare being set up in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Ambuja Cements is also adding 0.8 mtpa clinker capacity each in West Bengal and Rajasthan. The expansion of Sankrail plant in West Bengal is under implementation and is estimated to cost Rs 325 crore. The equipment order is placed and civil construction work has already started. The project is likely to add 0.80 mtpa grinding capacity to the unit.
