Afghan cement production: Czech Republic to invest $70 million

The Czech Republic will invest $70 million on cement production in west Afghanistan, according to officials from the war-torn country. The investment will be made in Herat province as part of a project to establish a cement factory in Zenda Jan district.

The agreement of the project will be inked in the next two months with a Czech firm, Sirus Alaf, an Afghan presidential adviser on the economy told reporters.
