US industry growth stuck in the slow lane

For the second successive year, the US cement industry recorded growth below 5 per cent. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has reported that clinker production has gone up by 1per cent in the first part of 2016 and but came down in the third quarter of the year. The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has lowered its forecasts for both 2016 and 2017. The election of President-elect Donald Trump and the uncertainty over what his policies reflects on the cement industry.
