The cement market in North India, which currently accounts for 31 per cent of the country?s total consumption, is expected to make a recovery by FY2017-18 on account of demand revival in the infrastructure sector, according to a report. Historically, North India is a well-balanced market with high capacity utilisation, low fragmentation and little threat from other manufacturing regions. Largely sale of cement dependent on rural or retail market. In 2014-15, North India consumed 79 million tonne or 31 per cent of India?s cement consumption, the report of a financial analyst said.
