With the government planning the ground-breaking ceremony of Amaravathi, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh on June 06, the cement industry in the state will most likely witness a boost from the construction activities that will follow.
The experts are hopeful that these developments will catapult the state?s cement industry which has been in a slump for a couple of years now.
According to Deepak Khetrapal, MD and CEO of Orient Cement Ltd, "while capacity utilisation and demand in Andhra Pradesh is still low, the state will have a higher demand in view of the new construction line-up."
"The demand for cement in the these states is improving due to steps taken by the new government in Telangana for building a new capital and low income housing," said Jagan Mohan Reddy, MD, Rain Industries Ltd.
