UltraTech Cement has commissioned its clinkerisation plant of 2 mtpa at Aditya Cement Works, Shambhupura in Rajasthan. It is a 6,000 tpd kiln with annual clinker capacity of 2 mtpa. Post this commissioning, Aditya Cement has a capacity of 7.18 mtpa clinker and 5 mtpa of cement. The state-of-the-art plant built at a cost of Rs 1,250 crore complies with all safety standards of the company and can run on all kind of fuels.
The work on the attached greenfield cement grinding unit at Jhajjar, Haryana is on full swing and the same is expected to commission in FY 16. The new clinkerisation plant will service the new 1.6 mtpa cement grinding unit capacity at Jhajjar and the balance clinker from the new clinkerisation plant in Aditya Cement will be transported to its grinding units in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Northern region is consuming almost 35 per cent of all India demand for cement and is expected to grow at around 8 per cent. With this commissioning, the company will further increase its capacity in North region.
