Semen Indonesia, one of the leading cement producers, is optimistic about the growth in Papua area of Indonesia. Papua and Maluku have been recording strong levels of growth in consumption, rising from 1.22Mt in 2012 from 760,000t in 2011. Last year Semen Indonesia built a rotary packing plant at a total investment of IDR162bn (US$13.8m) in Sorong, West Papua. The plant supplies 300-400tpd to the West Papua area.
