Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), Nigeria and the Government of Zambia signed the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement for constructing a cement plant in Zambia. The value of the investment is pegged at USD 400 million. The plant will have an installed capacity of 1.5 million metric tonnes per annum and will be running from February/March 2011. DIL chose Zambia as a strategic location for constructing this plant given that the world Bank had named it as one of the world’s fastest economically reforming countries in 2010.
