A 38 to 39 percent YOY rise in net retention prices was seen in cement prices in Pakistan in FY2012, as per a report by Pakistan Today. The industry can seek solace in the fact that there was an approximate 8 to 9 percent QoQ rise in the second quarter of FY 2012.Surprisingly, the prices continued to remain northward in the winter season as well. Coal prices have also reduced by around 10 percent since September 30, 2011 which is likely to bring down costs and boost margins of cement companies.
