This exhibition held for the first time in Raipur received a tremendous response. It also saw investment, worth more then Rs 200 crore.The National Expo 2 Steel, Power, Cement and Mining, concluded on 19 December 2010. The exhibition was held from 16-19 December, at Science College Ground, Raipur. The event was organised by Indore Infoline Private Limited. This is the first time Raipur hosted the event. World class facilities were provided to exhibitors like aluminum pavilions, octonorm stalls, wooden flooring and catering services. The exhibition has to its credit, visitor tracking systems. All the visitors were issued a unique ID number at the registration counter which was printed on their badge. This number was used by all the exhibitors to know the profile of the visitor. For this purpose, a Wi-Fi connection was set up in the whole campus.A hi-tech CCTV surveillance system was installed to cover the entire expo.The expo was inaugurated by the honourable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh. On the occasion he spoke about the great opportunity for industries in Chhattisgarh. He was highly impressed with the arrangements made in the expo and wanted the next exhibition to have more international participant. On this occasion BS Sahay, Director Indian Institute of Management, Raipur expressed his opinion and explained about the benefits of setting up a research based institute on a land of 200 acres in Raipur. The opening speech was made by RK Agrawal, Managing Director, Indore Infoline Private Limited.More than 200 exhibitors catering to steel, power, cement and mining from all over the country displayed their products. Godavari Ispat and Power (Hira Group), was the main sponsor for the event. URB Bearings from Romania, a exhibitor at the event has planned to setup their manufacturing facility in Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs 200 crore. This will help in generating employment for more than 2,000 people. ESAB India received the award for best stall decoration and URB Bearing received the award for best concept stall from Lions Club. The Governor of Chhattisgarh Shekhar Dutt, was the Chief Guest during the closing ceremony. He congratulated all the participants for their participation in the National Expo. He personally visited all the stalls and interacted with exhibitors and visitors. Urla Industries Association was the co-host of the event.
