Holcim Indonesia has officially inaugurated its new cement terminal in South Lampung.The investment is to the tune of $26 million. With this development, Holcim´s presence in the Sumatera Island market has been beefed up, particularly in Lampung.´We want to get closer to our customers and ensure secured supply to meet the local demand in Lampung. This terminal applies the latest technology and environmental friendly equipment and a jetty to support the operation,´ said Gary Schutz, President Director, PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk.
Schutz underlined Holcim´s ´commitment to invest´and the government´s key role in restoring the balance of demand and supply by spending on delayed projects that will affect other sectors such as housing and commercial building. ´The numerous additions to the national cement production capacity have led to a drastically over-supplied market outpacing demand by far for the next 6-10 years,´ he added.
