Mitsubishi UBE Cement Corporation (MUCC) has introduced GX-e BeadsTM, a carbon-negative artificial sand that captures 80 to 250 kg of CO2 per tonne (dry base). Made from calcium-rich waste and by-products, it utilises MUCC’s accelerated carbonation technology to fix CO2 from exhaust gases. Manufactured at room temperature using a low-carbon binder, GX-e BeadsTM reduces emissions and costs. It serves as a fine aggregate for normal-strength concrete, maintaining performance while lowering environmental impact. With low capital investment, this innovation presents a sustainable solution for the construction industry.
