Heidelberg Materials and thyssenkrupp Polysius have entered a contract for the plant design of the GeZero Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project. Located in Geseke, Germany, the GeZero project will be among the first European plants to produce Net-Zero cement using CCS technology.
The polysius® pure oxyfuel process will capture up to 100 per cent of CO2 emissions, with the purified CO2 being usable in various industries. This collaboration aims to reduce emissions in the cement sector and is supported by the EU Innovation Fund.
