Dalmia Bharat intends to raise its cement capacity to more than 48 million tonnes (MT) by the end of fiscal 2024, up from the present 35.9 MT, with an expenditure of Rs 9,000 crore in new plants and expansion of existing facilities, acquisitions, and production debottlenecking.
Dalmia stated that the business has finalised property in Chennai and Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu for two grinding facilities and that it is in the process of finalising land in Bihar for a new project. The firm recorded a combined net profit of Rs 103 crore for the December quarter of FY22, which was 44 percent down year on year due to weak demand and strong cost pressure. In addition, the corporation is testing electric vehicles for transportation, including electric trucks in Odisha.
