There is dire need to spread awareness about the merits of manufactured sand – Murali, Proprietor, Sri Sai Traders.
We have been dealers for more than eight years now and have grown to four distribution centres in Bangalore. We have set up shops in the north, south, eastern and western regions of Bangalore and have equipped them with a godown and a vehicle. Our dispatch is around 800 metric tonnes per month. The cement marketing industry saw a decline of around 30 to 40 per cent in demand in last two months due to unavailability of sand. For some reason, the local builders are still fixed on the idea of river sand. There is dire need to spread awareness about the merits of manufactured sand. The government and architects must help in educating them that the manufactured sand is just as good as river sand. Builders too, must realise that the river sand is no longer available and what is being sold to them in the name of river sand is nothing but mud- laden pond dirt.
