The company supplies cement different regions like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, and also in some areas in Gujarat, Hyderabad and Delhi. Thakkar has been a cement dealer since 1980 and has been dealing with brands such as Ambuja, ACC, Vasavadatta, India Cements, Sanghi, Binani, Orient, CCI etc. The company’s major sales are from Ambuja, India Cements and Vasavadatta followed by others brands. "The largest selling cement is OPC because of its fast setting property. However, PPC is produced more because it is an environmental-friendly product. As the customers are price sensitive, there are very few who are brand conscious, and are ready to pay a premium, says Thakkar. The company’s monthly despatch is 60,000 mt. "In order to minimise loss of cement, I suggest using of higher quality packaging that could solve the problem," Thakkar says. Talking about the proportion of institutional sales and retail sales, Thakkar says that is 35 per cent institutional sales and 65 per cent retail sales.
