The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is filling the craters on roads with murum, tar, crushed bricks, pebbles, and cement blocks. Angry citizens have raised a hue and cry over the damaged condition of the city roads. Citizens commuting to places all over the city are having a tough time negotiating the potholes, many are skidding and falling off their vehicles and getting injured. The civic body said it had few other options. Pramod Nirbhavane, head of PMC’s road department said that the cold mix technique of pothole filling is not very effective during the rain. "We are using cement blocks and bricks to tackle the big and deep potholes. It is temporary repairs as there is no other way to resolve this problem," he added. However, according to experts, the cold mix technology has not been used in a scientific way. The filled material comes out in two days.
