Under the Engineering, Procurement and Contract (EPC) route, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to award road projects of over 1,600 kms in the next few months. This is an indication that the road sector is picking momentum.
The awarding of the 1,600- kms road projects is a part of the 2,500 kms of projects earmarked by the authority this year. NHAI has already received bids for five projects covering 502 kms and the response has been good.
In addition, the NHAI has also called for bids for another 225 kms, and are preparing bids for 800 kms of road projects.
