Hanson has launched EasyPile SP, a new concrete mix design for secant piling. It is a system used predominantly for ground stabilisation work prior to the installation of structural piles, particularly in difficult ground conditions. EasyPile SP offers three mix designs to help contractors meet the specific requirements of secant walling. Hard pile is a reinforced concrete mix for the secondary piles, while soft pile and firm pile provide two options for primary piling. The machine increases the speed of piling by stabilising the ground and ensuring easy placement with conventional site equipment. It doesn’t lose water into the surrounding soil so remains fully hydrated and fit for purpose. EasyPile SP joins EasyPile CFA, a structural CFA piling concrete which reduces the number of cage failures in dry and dense ground conditions, in Hanson’s range of concrete piling solutions. Both mixes are available nationally and have been developed to offer piling contractors a cost effective solution in unfavourable ground conditions. The EasyPile range incorporates Hanson Regen, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), a cement replacement which significantly reduces embodied CO2, and the SikaPile Pak admixture system. These additions allow a lower pumping pressure which improves safety and reduces maintenance on pumping and placing equipment.
