Heidelberg Cement India has expanded its manufacturing capacity at its Jhansi based grinding plant from 0.8 mt per annum to 2.7 mt annually. The company successfully conducted trial runs at the new plant towards the end of 2012 before starting production in the second half of January 2013. Ashish Guha, CEO and MD, HeidelbergCement India, said that this is company’s first step towards expanding its manufacturing capacity in central India. The company expects cement consumption to grow at a relatively higher rate in this region and the capacity addition would benefit all stakeholders. He said that they expect to increase their market share in central India, and hike their deliveries in other markets including Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttarakhand with the enhanced capacity. With the commissioning of the new grinding plant that has been funded through mix of internal accruals and debts, the company has increased its all India cement capacity to 5 mt per annum from 3.07 mt annually.Contact: HeidelbergCement.Tel: 124 450 3700.Website: www.mycemco.com
