Godrej invests Rs 9,000 cr in real estate

In the next ten years, real estate major Godrej Properties (GPL) will invest $1.5 billion (Rs 9,000 crore) in 15 new projects in the country. Five of these 15 new projects have already been launched in this year. In Ahmedabad, GPL has already invested nearly Rs 1,000 crore on its biggest-ever project in the country. The project is called Godrej Garden City (GGC), In a joint venture with its local partner Sri Siddhi Developers, Godrej has invested $1 billion (Rs 6,000 crore) in GGC. The company said that GGC is a world-class integrated township, planned by the US-based Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), designers of numerous global landmarks including the Burj Khalifa of Dubai. The project has been supervised by L&T in construction.
