STEKOX®, the sealing material manufacturer based in Magstadt, Germany, has an exceptionally versatile sealant in its range: FlexproofX 1. It was developed specifically for reinforced concrete structures, but can also be used for non-mineral materials such as metal or glass. The formulation used for FlexproofX 1 effectively prevents any water absorption. Thanks to this and its high resistance to alkalis which is especially relevant in the case of reinforced concrete, FlexproofX« 1 offers permanent resistance to water, even under pressure. It can even render cracks and joints between 0.25 and 1 millimetre in width watertight at up to 2 bar water pressure. A general test certificate from the German building inspection authority is available for installations with or without reinforcing mats, for sealing working joints or programmed fracture lines.
StekoX®, the manufacturer, supplies FlexproofX 1 sealant in a number of different packs and consistencies. It can for instance be obtained in a consistency that permits it to be rolled out or poured easily, in a tubular bag or for use in a cartridge. FlexproofX 1 can be applied by roller, brush, bag nozzle or piston pumps. It is a single-component sealant that adheres to even damp or cold substrates.
