Concrete Pipes & Pipeline Design Workshop

Hotel Grand Chancellor, Melbourne

This session deals with the materials that make up reinforced concrete pipes. Cement types include GP, SL and HE cement as well as SCM’s (supplementary cementitious materials) such as flyash. The reason why some concrete pipes use elliptical steel reinforcement instead of circular steel reinforcement is outlined. Concrete pipe load class is explained and the requirements of crack control for testing in accordance with AS/NZS 4058-2007 are also outlined. Other tests that are expanded upon include hydrostatic testing, absorption testing and durability requirements e.g. impermeability limits, chloride and sulphate concentration limits.

Concrete Repair & Maintenance Course

This session looks at the most commonly used materials for repairing damaged concrete namely epoxies and polymer modified cement based materials. This session will discuss the principles behind how these products work, including correct mixing of product and hardener (in the case of epoxies), crack injection, low viscosity v/s high viscosity products, self-levelling compounds etc. The session will be capped off by a practical demonstration of their usage in the seminar room.

Concrete Conference at Missouri S&T

ACI Spring 2013 Convention

On behalf of the ACI Twin Cities Chapter Convention Committee, ACI conducts ACI 2013.
