A clover bridge is being planned on the busy Chandigarh-Mullanpur road by the Chandigarh Union Territory (UT) administration to ease congestion. A clover bar bridge is usually built across rivers with at least three lanes to carry huge traffic. Such type of bridges was constructed abroad as back as early 70s. The UT administration has said that the busy intersection needs to be improved for traffic and some technical solutions have been given by experts, which are being examined. In development of Mullanpur area, the Punjab government has been taking keen interest and has come forward to offer free land for construction of the Metro station.
