While wholesale prices remained largely stable, the non-trade end saw gains in central UP (Lucknow, Kanpur) and MP. Further hikes (Rs 25-30) are being planned from early December, but dealers suggest a low likelihood of the entire hike getting absorbed. Demand remained subdued post Diwali, defying expectations of a bounceback in UP. Elections took centrestage in MP and demand is widely expected to revive only once government formation is complete.
