Authorities have sealed a cement factory in the Wuyan area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on 18 June, while giving 15 days’ time to another company to install pollution control equipment or face closure. District Magistrate, Pulwama, accompanied by the Regional Director J&K Pollution Control Board and police officers inspected various cement manufacturing units in Wuyan. The team sealed the Dawar cement manufacturing plant on the spot and gave 15 days’ time to another plant, J&K Cement Manufacturing, Khrew, to install necessary pollution control equipment, warning that failing to comply will lead to the plant being sealed.
