Heidelberg Cement has developed a Biodiversity Conservation Programme for Europe in cooperation with BirdLife International. This is a result of companyÆs efforts to expand its Biodiversity Action Plan in line with its increasing presence in Africa and southeast Asia. The company announced the plans at the BirdLife World Congress in Ottawa, Canada and previewed the latest book in its quarry life biodiversity series, ‘Birds in Quarries’ and ‘Gravel Pits’ on the ocassion. The book, which is part of a series of books dedicated to dragonflies and orchids, was published in cooperation with BirdLife International.
