Geocycle is an in-house waste management arm that provides services for industrial, agricultural, municipal, and plastic waste. Recently, the first consignment of plastic waste weighing more than 10 tons was recovered and was sent to Geocycle?? processing facilities in Ambuja and ACC cement plants.
It is expected that the river cleaning project shall remove more than 150 tonnes of plastic waste and restore 7,500 cu m of river area.
Jojari river is also called as ??esert Ganga??in Rajasthan and has become a local dumping ground in recent years. A recent study concluded that the river was severely drained out and dangerous to local agriculture and the natural ecosystem, which could have adverse effects on the health of the local population.
Geocycle, in collaboration with Rekart Innovations, an Extended Producer Responsibility or EPR organisation is responsible for setting up a mechanical sorting machine for the segregation of the waste collected. After which, the plant will treat mixed and untreated waste on the dumpsite and segregate low-value plastic and other composite and combustible waste. After the treatment and segregation of waste, the recovered waste will then be sent to Geocycle’s facilities at the Ambuja and ACC cement plants for further treatment through co-processing, ensuring complete recycling and recovery.
