A consortium led by Sacyr Industrial has been awarded the EPC contract for a new cement plant in Potosi, Bolivia. The contract was signed with Servicio de Desarrollo de las Empresas Publicas Productiva (SEDEM) for ECEBBOL, Bolivia’s state-owned cement producer.
The contract is worth $241 million and is the second of its kind in Bolivia, following the award of the Oruro cement plant in 2015. A similar contract was also awarded last year for the construction of the Riobamba line in Ecuador. It includes the greenfield design, construction, assembly, and commissioning of a new clinker line with a capacity of 3000 t/d, along with the cement line with production capacity of 1.3 million t/y.
The EPC consortium includes Sacyr Industrial, thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions, and Imasa Ingenieria y Proyectos.
