French engineering group Fives has commissioned two new cement milling units at Qatar National Cement’s plant in Umm Bab, Qatar. The mills are part of a new production line – the fifth at the plant – which will have capacity of 5000 t/d when complete.
The two 4200 kW FCB B-mills with FCB TSV 4000 classifiers for cement grinding form part of a turnkey contract that also includes a 6400 kW mill with classifier for raw meal grinding, five-stage pre-heater with FCB Zero-Nox Preca system, kiln, and two process filters.
Qatari cement demand has been boosted by ongoing infrastructure development related to the FIFA 2020 World Cup preparations.
