NCB organised a meeting of Chinese cement machinery suppliers with Indian cement producers at Hyderabad on 1st December 2016.
The National Council for Cement and Building Materials organised a one-day technology meet on Chinese cement technology and machinery at NCB’s Hyderabad unit. The meet was organised at the request of China Building Material Machinery Association (CBMMA), to share common concerns faced by both countries in the areas of economy, energy and environment which are primarily directed towards controlling and minimising the country’s carbon footprint.
The meet was attended by 25 members of CBMMA. A large number of senior executives representing cement plants in India also took part in the meet.
Welcoming the delegates, A Pahuja, Director General – NCB emphasised the commitment of the world cement industry towards environment, energy, quality and productivity and the various initiatives taken in this direction, particularly at COP21 and COP22. He mentioned that the technology meet would provide an interface between both countries. In his inaugural speech, D Muruganandam, President (Mfg) of The India Cements Ltd said the Indian cement industry views sustainability as a business approach, while maximising social benefit.
Delivering the keynote address, VS Narang, Director-Tech of My Home Industries Pvt Ltd, highlighted the technological developments made by the Indian cement industry over the past 100 years.
Zhang Rui, Chief of Technical Department of China Building Material Machinery Association and President of Sinoma Technology and Equipment Group Co Ltd, China, made a detailed presentation on the ‘Developments in Chinese Cement Technology and Machinery’ and offered CMMA’s association to find ways and means to overcome the technological challenges faced by the Indian cement industry.
The speakers from CMMA included Xin Wang, General Manager & Professor in Special Welding Materials Research Department of Zhengzhou Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Han Ziangdong, Project Manager of Nanjing C-HOPE Cement Engineering Group, Chen Yiqun, Sales Director of Shenghuo New Cement Technology and Engineering Co Ltd, Wu Zhigang, Vice President of Citic Hic Engineering and Technology Co Ltd, among others.
The meet was concluded with a vote of thanks by KV Kalyani, Joint Director and Unit In-charge of NCB-Hyderabad.
