Recently, BIS has formulated IS 16415:2015 on composite cement, thus clearing the way for using both fly ash and slag in production of this type of cement and gaining advantage of these two types of SCMs, together. The two materials complement each other and would lead to resource conservation and low carbon footprint. Efforts are also on for making composite and multi-component blended cements using different mineral additives such as limestone, calcined clay etc. along with fly ash and granulated slag, for producing low-carbon cements, improving concrete durability and also meeting the challenge of sustainable development, while meeting tough environmental regulations.
Aim
The symposium aims to bring together the producers, researchers, civil engineers, marketers and users on a common platform. The symposium will:
Enable cement manufacturers design a better product
Result in creating increased awareness about the benefits of blended cements in concrete and construction
Focus on durability aspects of concrete made with blended cements
Who Should Attend?
Professionals from cement, concrete and construction industries; cement, concrete and environmental scientists; civil engineers, marketing professionals, academicians, policymakers, consultants and machinery manufacturers.
