Cement price in Egypt has bee ?stable? for the fifth consecutive month, according to the Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafy. According to cement manufacturers, the reason behind the price stability was the surplus supply.
Overall, 854,000 tonne had been produced for the previous month and the total amount of supplied cement was 1.86 million tonne. Around 818,000 tonne of cement were distributed in the local market and around 500,000 tonne were exported between 9 and 15 April. The production capacity has increased following the introduction of coal as a source of energy, which reduced the energy problem faced by the producers.
