Reliance Infrastructure, which currently stands at 5.8 mtpa, is planning to almost triple its cement generation capacity to 15 mtpa over the next three years. While speaking at the AGM, company chairman Anil Ambani updated the stakeholders that the company plans to set-up its plants in Madhya Pradesh (MP), Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal.
Ambani further said the new road projects that are likely to come up for bidding will open up opportunities for the company. "To build better quality roads with cement, the country will need new cement capacity of nearly 40mtpa. We will be selectively participating in road projects," said Ambani.
