Business has slowed down as there is no money in the market

We are exclusive dealers for Ambuja Cement in Delhi for last 12 years. Being an exclusive dealer has its benefits. The brand is well known, it has good strength and we do not have to convince the customer about its merits. Having multiple brands confuses the customer unnecessarily.

Besides, as an exclusive dealer, we get the material at a discount of Rs 2 to 3. Even though it is a small amount, in today?s competitive world it matters a lot. I can pass it on to my customers and can retain them for a longer period. Our monthly dispatch is around 500 to 600 tonnes that goes in and around New Delhi.

Business has slowed down, as there is no money in the market. Another problem is the fluctuation in cement prices. Prices sway by as much as by 40 per cent. We are finding it difficult to make the customers understand these abrupt price movements. We often have to bear losses due to such fluctuations. This has to stop.
