Cement major ACC is planning to rope in franchise manufacturers to produce bricks from fly-ash by
keeping in tune with its capacity expansion programme in the eastern region. According to the company its has already appointed one such franchise brick maker. Plans are afoot to appoint four more franchise manufacturers in West Bengal with a projected combined capacity of one lakh bricks a day. Similar exercise is expected in other eastern States.
A wider product basket will give more business avenues to our dealers, the company said in Kolkata on September 11. While one brick plant is operational in Burdwan, four others are slated to come up at Belda (West Midnapore), Jangalpur, Dhulagarh (Howrah) and Dankuni (Hooghly). Each plant would entail an investment of nearly Rs 30-50 lakh.
