The corporate entity of Vizag Steel, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam is mulling setting up of a cement plant as part of its plans to dispose byproducts such as slag and fly ash. RINL may also enter into a long-term contract to supply these byproducts to prevent their accumulation that can lead to environmental issues.
An official concerned said that the company may enter into a joint venture partnership for setting up a cement plant. Fly ash, a byproduct from the company’s power plant, is getting accumulated which may create environmental issue in future.
RINL may also enter long-term agreement for supplying these products. There will be clarity in a few days, the official added.
