Subsidiary of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH in Russia carries out foundation works for new Lafarge cement plantBAUER Technologie, a subsidiary of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH in Germany, is carrying out foundation works for a Lafarge cement plant in Ferzikovo, about 200 kilometres south-west of the capital in the administrative district of Kaluga. The French building materials manufacturer already owns cement plants near Chelyabinsk and near Moscow.The foundation works for the new cement factory in Ferzikovo comprise 18,000 metres of fully encased piles in 1 metre diameter and lengths up to 26 metres. The work is being carried out by two Bauer BG 40 and BG 28 rotary drilling rigs. Also as part of the project, OOO BAUER Technologiecarried out static pile load tests, surveying work, parts of the earthworks and the groundwater control. The contract is worth the equivalent of just over EUR 8 million.
