Atul Patel of Atul Trading Company has been in the cement business for the last 30 years. The company has been a dealer for J.K.Lakshmi Cement, Tata, Binani Cement, J K Super, Ultratech, Coromandel, Hathi, Jaypee Cement. They operate mainly in Gujarat. The company always maintains stocks of around two vehicles full of cement bags. When queried on the ratio of institutional sales to retail sales, Patel said, "proportion of institutional sales to retail sales is 50:50. "The sales of cement brands dealt in by the comp-any depend on cost and availability and no particular brand has the highest sale. He further stated, "the company’s monthly dispatch is around 400 mt." Transportation of goods has not been a big issue for the company.
