Capacity utilization of its cement plant is planned to be doubled by Murli Industries, a Nagpur based business group, to 80 percent by 2012. The company started a 3 million mt/year cement plant at Chandrapur, Maharashtra in 2010, which is currently running at 40 percent of its capacity. The company plans to double its capacity utilization to 80 percent in this year. The company has also set up a 50 MW power plant as part of this venture.The company’s Executive Director, Mr Murli Maloo stated that a damp trend was likely to pervade the country’s cement sector till 2014. However, a big demand supply gap in the country’s western region, which includes Maharashtra and Gujarat, offers ample supply for growth.
