The global concrete admixtures and cement grinding aids businesses of Italcementi Group, which are marketed under the brand Axim, are set to be purchased by Sika.CEO of Sika Ernst Baertschi stated that the acquisition will be a major expansion step for Sika in the business of admixture worldwide. Axim employs around 150 employees and operates several production units and sales organisations in Italy, France, USA, Canada, Morocco and Spain through six legal entities. The company generated sales of around ??1 million in 2010. The company has in its portfolio a broad range of concrete admixtures, cement grinding aids and specialized chemicals for enhancing performance of cement and concrete as well as improving production efficiency of cement.
