VRL Cements' Badami cement plant gets delayed

VRL Cements Ltd will commence the land acquisition process for its Badami cement plant project, once the lime-stone linkage is set up. It will also be crucial for company to decide the location of the cement plant. The company has applied to Mysore Minerals Ltd to form joint venture for limestone mining at Nirbudihal in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The project was announced at at Badami in Bagalkot district of Karnataka with an outlay of Rs 954 crore. The State Government’s approval was sought in the same month. The company will contribute Rs 100 crore from the promoters’ equity and balance will be funded from the market. It will generate employment for about 180 people. The capacity of a plant will be two million tonnes per annum, with a 50 MW capacity captive power plant.
