Jaiprakash Associates said in a statement that its cement shipments in August rose 21 per cent from a year earlier to 1.32 million tonne. On month on month basis, the dispatches have declined by 9 per cent (as the company had registered volume of 1.45 million tonne in the month of July 2011). Hence, the volume growth of 21 per cent yoy in the month of August 2011 is primarily on account of capacity addition and low base of August 2010.
