Chettinad Cement plans to set up a cement grinding unit with a capacity of 2 million tonne per annum at Ahuj Village in Solapur district in Maharashtra. In the first three months ending June 30, 2011, the company reported a net profit of Rs 69.64 crore against Rs 20 crore in the same period last. Net sales improved to Rs 453.70 crore from Rs 337.45 crore in the year ago period. The other operating income rose to Rs 18.70 crore from Rs 12.25 crore.
