Ambuja Cements has reported that production for the month of August 2011 stood at 15.20 lakh tonne, an increase of 1.07 per cent, compared with the same period last year. The production for the month of August 2010 was 14.13 lakh tonne. The despatches for the month of August 2011 increased marginally by 2.65 per cent by 15.08 lakh tonne in August 2011 from 14.69 lakh tonne in August 2010. The despatch and production for the month of January – August 2011 also registered a marginal increase of 2.85 per cent and 2.29 per cent respectively compared with the same period last year. The despatch and production for the period January-August 2011 were 142.44 lakh tonne and 139.78 lakh tonne respectively and for the period January-August 2010 the production stood at 136.65 lakh tonne and despatch 138.48 lakh tonne.
