UltraTech Cement said that its cement shipments in May 2011 were at 3.24 million tonne, down 3.2 percent from a year earlier. Its cement production for the period April-May 2011 stood at 64.89 lakh mt as against 68.16 lakh mt during April-May 2010. Dispatches stood at 64.41 lakh mt in April-May 2011 vis-?vis 67.33 lakh mt are lower by 4.34 per cent in the corresponding period last year. Cement production for the month of May 2011 is lower by -4.93 per cent at 32.52 lakh mt, and dispatches, at 32.44 lakh mt, by -3.27% over May 2010.
